In this blog post, we take you behind the scenes of a very special project: the complete restoration of a 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser XL, found abandoned near the ocean and heavily affected by corrosion.

The Vehicle:

A heavily rusted Toyota Land Cruiser XL, built in 1978, left near the sea for many years. The bodywork was badly damaged, and severe rust had eaten through many critical parts.

The Challenges:

• Severe rust damage to the chassis and body
• Missing or damaged original parts
• Completely deteriorated and unusable interior

Our Plan:

1. Full dismantling and detailed damage assessment
2. All-round renewal and rebuilding of the vehicle
3. Replacement of rusted and damaged parts
4. Welding work and fabrication using repair sheets
5. Complete bodywork restoration including sandblasting and reconstruction
6. Complete repainting in a custom color (spray painting)
7. Full interior restoration
8. Reassembly and final fine-tuning

Processing Time:

The full restoration process took around 17 days for the core work, followed by detailed adjustments and fine finishing.

The Result:

After 30 days of careful work and dedication, the Land Cruiser now shines in a stunning classic Sahara Beige. Equipped with modern technical upgrades under the hood and a fully refurbished interior, it’s once again ready for new adventures on Namibia’s roads and beyond. From rust to robust – a true transformation.
